News that the health of 83-year-old King Bhumibol Adulyadej took what Princess Chulabhorn is portrayed as a brief turn for the worse came as floods have inundated much of Thailand, including parts of Bangkok and its suburbs. More than 500 people have died, the damage is estimated at several billion dollars and the center of Bangkok remains threatened.

Princess Chulabhorn said Friday 11 November 2011 during a visit to the flood victims of North Bangkok's King Bhumibol Adulyadej went into shock and loss of consciousness after suffering a stomach hemorrhage and a sharp decline in blood pressure.

Chulabhorn said King's returned to normal after being treated at the Hospital where he has lived for more than two years, according to the official Royal news broadcast Friday night. King, who ascended to the throne in 1946, was hospitalized with pneumonia, September 19, 2009. An official statement said he lived in hospitals for physical therapy and food to restore the power.
